Heck, Jordan trash-talked the extras on the set of Space Jam, for God’s sake. Kobe Bryant, Gary Payton, and of course, The GOAT Michael Jordan all immediately come to mind. With this in mind, he is truly the GOAT of trash talking. There have been some great trash-talkers in the storied history of the NBA. Who could forget the infamous scrum that broke out between the Hawks and Celtics?! There are even more stories about Bird roasting his opponents and many other NBA greats will admit Bird was the biggest savage of them all. Whether it was asking all the contestants in the three-point contest “who is coming in second?” or telling Xavier McDanielhow he was going to score on him, Bird knew how to get into an opponent’s head.īird also had heated battles with other NBA legends like Reggie Miller and Dominique Wilkins. The stories about Larry Legend’s trash-talking are endless. He is also the greatest trash talker of all time. Larry Bird is one of the greatest players of all time. Names that almost made the list include Kobe Bryant, John Starks, Rasheed Wallace, and Kevin Garnett. First, let’s list some honorable mentions. However, there is still one NBA legend who surpasses both Miller and Jordan in terms of trash talking. Just ask many other players who fell victim to the Pacers’ legend’s antics. If you let Miller get into your head, it was game over. Reggie Miller made his name on the court as both a great shooter and an amazing trash talker. He did not back down from anyone including Michael Jordan. However, there are many other examples that prove that Reggie Miller is one of the greatest trash talkers of all time. Everyone remembers the infamous game where Miller made the choke gesture towards Spike Lee during the game against the New York Knicks. Jordan is also very competitive in other avenues such as golf or even gambling. We already knew he was extremely competitive, but many fans still underestimate him as a trash talker to this day. Whether it was literally telling Byron Scott he was going to drop 50 points on him and keeping true to his word or shooting a free throw left-handed and making it after being harassed by Dikembe Mutombo, Jordan never backed down from a challenge. What is there left to say about Michael Jordan? He is already the greatest of all time and he never gave less than 100% in anything he did. The Three Best Trash Talkers in NBA History NBA Trash Talker #3: Michael Jordan With that in mind, who are the three best trash talkers in NBA history? Without further adieu, let’s rank the three best trash talkers in NBA history. As a result, the NBA has had some impressive trash talkers over the years. The same applies to the sport of basketball. Prior to a holiday season game in 1990, Pacers forward Chuck Person - whose nickname was "The Rifleman" - said he was going "Bird hunting."ĭuring the Celtics' subsequent 152-132 dismantling of Indiana, legend has it Bird turned to Person immediately after releasing a trey and said, "Merry f-ing Christmas.Trash talking has always been an overlooked root of sports. When asked if he could beat Bird, Hodges said "he knows where he can find me."īird's retort: "Yeah, at the end of the Bulls bench." 'Merry f-ing Christmas' The ultimate answer to that question was Dale Ellis.Ī few years later, Bird had stopped competing in the shootout and a little-used Chicago Bulls guard named Craig Hodges tied Bird's record with three titles. ![]() Before his third and final in 1988, he famously asked his competition " who's coming in second?" The NBA introduced the All-Star Three-Point Contest contest in 1986, and Bird won the first three events. In this ancient video, then-Hawk Doc Rivers (noticeably with a much-less hoarse voice) breaks down how Bird called a 3-pointer "from the trainer's lap," then proceeded to end up in the trainer's lap. By the fourth quarter, the Boston Celtics superstar was throwing fire - from both his hands and mouth. Bird scored a career-high 60 points against the Atlanta Hawks on March 12, 1985. ![]() Used by Google DoubleClick and stores information about how the user uses the website and any other advertisement before visiting the website. In the meantime, consumers shouldn’t wait for the Apple TV app to gain Chromecast support. This may change in the future if the Apple TV app gains Chromecast support, but it currently remains to be seen if that’s going to happen any time soon. Again, users will need to sign in to the Apple TV website, but then they can simply use Chrome’s built-in ability to cast to nearby devices to find the Chromecast and stream videos.Īlthough not as convenient as casting directly from a smartphone app, Chromecast users have little option when it comes to watching Apple TV and Apple TV+ on a Chromecast. In this situation, the best solution is to access the Apple TV website via a browser like Chrome, and then cast the website directly to a Chromecast device from the browser. ![]() If working with an older Chromecast model then the downloading of the app is not going to work considering the older models do not support app downloads. It is also worth noting that select Android TV (now Google TV) devices can also download the Apple TV app and support casting, making this a possible alternative to directly casting to a Chromecast with Google TV. Once downloaded, it is just a matter of signing in with the user’s Apple ID, and then streaming any of the Apple TV shows or movies, including Apple TV+ content. As a result, users can simply download the Apple TV app from the Google Play Store instead. In early 2021, the Apple TV app became available to directly download on the latest Chromecast. However, this won’t be an option for Chromecast users considering Google’s casting device does not support AirPlay either.Īdvertisement Options for casting Apple TV to a Chromecastįor those with the newer Chromecast with Google TV, there’s no need to cast Apple TV to begin with. If a smart TV or streaming device does support AirPlay in addition to Chromecast, then AirPlay works the same as casting, making it possible to watch on a larger screen at home. Instead, Apple expects those using one of its devices to utilize AirPlay support. It is also unclear if that’s going to change. The Apple TV app for iPhone and iPad currently doesn’t support Chromecast. However, there are still a number of devices that are not yet supported. At the same time, Apple TV device support has also been expanding, making it possible to access all the videos on more devices than Apple’s own hardware. Although the Apple TV+ subscription service started off slowly, it has gradually been building out its library over time with high quality and popular content. The Apple TV app is a good option for renting or buying movies and show episodes, and is also how consumers can access Apple TV+. ![]() When I tried Elbrus Star Locator, I could not convince it to solve my images. Both appear to require approximate information about image scale and rotation. ![]() And I found the Elbrus Star Locator, which is open source. ![]() Searching for more general tools, I found the PinPoint Astrometric engine which is a commercial product. Most of the astrometric tools I found on the web are only for "refining" already known star positions. This information can ultimately be used to label a star image, as I do in my application.Īs far as I know, this capability is quite unique. The result of the solver is center position, rotation, scale of the solved image, plus some more obscure information about the WCS coordinate system. It can do so without knowing scale or rotations, because asterisms are invariant to these factors. Using the asterisms as fingerprints, it reduces possible positions/scales/rotations in the sky to a few candidates that can be validated using the other stars in the image. When given an astronomical image, the Blind Solver identifies bright stars, and queries the database for the asterisms of those stars. In essence, the Blind Solver works by creating a large database containing relative positions of groups of 4 stars (asterisms). Dustin Lang's thesis is an extended version of that. If you are interested in how this software works, an article published by the project is probably the best introduction. The Blind Solver is a product of a university project (of which I was not part), documented on. Schedules can affect a host of important outcomes for employees, both personal and professional. But the reality is that nonstandard work schedules are common, and every organization that is reimagining the workplace should be cognizant of the pros and cons of implementing them. For example, night shifts are associated with higher absenteeism and lower productivity while flextime schedules are generally associated with reduced absenteeism and turnover 2) Can we better align our work schedules with the needs of our employees? Person-schedule fit, or finding the right hours for the right person, is an important factor to consider when contemplating a post-pandemic strategy 3) What are the implications of giving employees more control over their schedules? It is possible to create schedules that are idiosyncratic and customized to meet the needs and desires of individual employees 4) Can we effectively balance the needs and desires of both the organization and employees?
